Wow….I’ve had a non-stop but super productive morning. I’m going in to work late since I have a late gastric bypass nutrition class and a gastric bypass support group tonight….and I have used my morning hours to the fullest.
Quick breakfast on the run- PB on whole-wheat with banana and goji berries- yummy combo!

Then, I ran errands….
- gym- quick treadmill walk/jog workout
- grocery shopping for a few staples
- bank
Treat at Target- my first peppermint mocha of the year – delicious.

Katey had a great question yesterday about Intuitive Eating. She asked if Intuitive Eating was intended primarily for people whose goal is weight loss or if it was a beneficial concept for people whose goal is to maintain their weight. Thanks for the great question, Katey!! Intuitive Eating is one of my favorite concepts that I use regularly with my patients/clients who are working on weight loss. However, I strongly believe that it is a great mindset for everyone to work towards. Learning to truly eat intuitively is good for us all. I’d love to explore this further, so stay tuned for an upcoming post digging deeper into Intuitive Eating. In the meantime, here are some of my previous posts about the topic.
Intuitive Eating Principle 1 – Reject the Diet Mentality
Intuitive Eating Principle 2- Honor your Hunger
Intuitive Eating Principle 3- Make Peace with Food
Can’t wait to share more of my thoughts on Intuitive Eating with you.
First, I have to go to work. Lunch will be my amazing Greek salad leftovers from yesterday…just getting it packed up.

Have a great Thursday! See you tonight!

Hi Angie, thanks for this great topic.. am looking forward to reading and learning more about it as i am trying to get myself to eat intuitively instead of calorie count… however, i have a burning question, does eating salad everyday for lunch for the rest of your life count as dieting? is it considered healthy form of eating? my friend has embarked on that in order to lose weight and she has claimed it works. thanks.
I love and agree with your philosophy about intuitive eating. Great insight!
Thanks for the info on this topic. Have a good day.
Yum, Greek salads are my all time favorite type of salad! I agree with you about intuitive eating. It’s not just for weight loss goals, it should be everyone’s goal to eat intuitively, as we did as a child! Thanks for re-posting those links, I will refer back to them from time to time.
Have a great day Angie!
Mhmm yummy breakfast! Loving the pb and banana!

I do agree with the Honor your hunger. When you’re hungry your body is telling you it needs fuel and that doesn’t mean you have to stuff yourself with anything and everything. I know from experience it isn’t always easy to listen to your body though, I do try.
Thank you for answering my question! I will be looking forward to seeing a future post!
What brand of goji berries are you using? I grew up eating them and never realized that some people find they have a bitter after taste. I never noticed. Am interested to know what you think about them.
love that starbucks has the new cups out!! what a beautiful and delicious looking breakfast you made!
I’m so interested in intuitive eating – I like the idea of it but I’m not sure I understand it fully! And I think it’s so hard to get that in tune with your body; sometimes I think I know what my body wants…but I’m sometimes really way off!
I think intuitive eating is how we are all meant to eat. I really struggle with it, but it is my goal…not for weight loss, but for the healthiest relationship with food.
I love the holiday starbucks cups! The peppermint mocha sounds delicious. I think intuitive eating is great– kinda tricky to get into the habit of, but it’s an awesome mindset
