Thanksgiving Monday

Good morning!

I’m going in to work a little late today…it’s my typical Monday – I have gastric band nutrition class this morning, conference call + paperwork this afternoon, then boot camp and weight loss class tonight. Since I had a little extra time at home, I made banana oats with dark chocolate, berries, and almond butter…plus 2 cups of Green Mountain Coffee Nantucket Blend…perfect.

Are you getting excited about Thanksgiving? I love it! In fact, I was just telling Anthony yesterday that Thanksgiving may be one of my very favorite holidays. I can’t wait to hang out with our family and spend time with the kids. The food is great too, but, to me, it is really about family time. And, it is great to have a reminder to be thankful. I try to be thankful every day, but sometimes in the busyness of life…it is difficult. Today, I’m thankful for my amazing husband, my great family, my awesome friends, and having a job that I mostly love.

Do you love Thanksgiving? What is your favorite part? What are you thankful for today?

Have a great Monday!

I love Thanksgiving too, but sadly this year it won’t be the same. My aunt, who has so much energy and is an amazing cook, broke her hip a few months ago and is on bed rest. It’s so sad. We are going over there to be with the family, but she’ll be sitting and it just won’t be the same. Either way, I’m thankful that we still get to see family and eat great food. I’m also thankful that my aunt MAY finally start to listen to me and she’ll stop doing the “eat for your blood type” diet!! I swear it isn’t good for her and she isn’t getting enough vitamin D, clearly.

I love Thanksgiving! It might be my favorite holiday as well. I love the focus of it – being grateful. And, of course, I love the food. My mom makes the best homemade gravy and dumplings!

The only thing I love about Thanksgiving is visiting with family and friends and not having to work, otherwise I don’t do to well with the food options and I have some issues with treatment of native Americans and such, so in the end it is a lot more depressing than it seems on the surface. yes, I can put a damper on the holiday so I usually just shut up and don’t mention some historical aspects and what not. Sorry to be a party pooper! But I do love hanging out with my family.

I’m new to your blog, but I’m excited to read more!

Thanksgiving is my least-favorite holiday of the year, because I hate that it’s centered around food! Torture!!! ;)

But I do love seeing friends and family.

Thanksgiving sounds like a wonderful holiday, I’m really looking forward to Christmas for the same reasons, spending time with my family, the decorations, food and songs :)
